Pikkolo Soft Structured Baby Carrier Metro Black

41D8Lk92zIL. SL75 Pikkolo Soft Structured Baby Carrier Metro Black

The new Pikkolo by CatBird Baby represents the new height of carrier sophistication and comfort. You can completely customize it to meet you and your baby’s ever-changing needs over time, and use it in a myriad of positions. * Excellent for babies from newborn up to 45 pounds (age 4 to 5). * All Pikkolo carriers include a detachable sleep hood, chest belt and instruction manual and are 100% cotton, exclusive of trim. * The Pikkolo has a cinching mechanism on either side of the carrier body to narrow the carrier. You can then comfortably wear your baby in front facing out. The baby is held in a healthy semi-seated position which does not place as much pressure on the crotch and spine of the baby as a Baby Bjorn does. * The ability to cinch the carrier body also makes it good for wearing small babies. A narrower cinched carrier body means that a small baby will not have to spread his legs very wide while riding. * Brushed twill cotton fabric is feather-soft, feels wonderful against the skin. * Snap hooks on sleeping hood attach to D-rings on the shoulder straps for ease of use and better adjustment. * Tested to fit wearers between 4’10″ and 6’2″. * All buckles are dual-adjustable and adjust both ways, for optimal fit and ease of adjustment. * Shoulder straps are padded with deluxe memory foam. It is very thin, but incredibly cushy and shock-absorbent. As the foam becomes warmed by your body heat, it shapes itself to your shoulders for a glove-like fit. * Recommended care: wash on gentle cycle in cold water with a mild detergent. Dry on low until just damp, hang to finish drying in well ventilated area. Spot clean when needed

5 Stars Love this carrier!
I am so pleased with this carrier. I spent an hour in the sling store, going back and forth with my 5-month old baby between this and an Ergo carrier. In the end I went with the Pikkolo because it was more comfortable to me, you could wear baby front facing out (cannot do this in an Ergo), front facing in, hip and back. I also found the carrier body to be short on the Ergo and my baby’s legs seemed to be sort of sticking straight out, rather than appearing seated as they do in the Pikkolo. I like that you can narrow the leg area to get a comfortable seated position for your little one.

I’d been using a Moby Wrap but it was getting too hot in the Texas heat, and my son was too heavy (18 lbs!) for me to carry him in the Bjorn Active anymore. I wanted a soft-structured carrier that would get me through toddlerhood and this one fits the bill. I use it at the grocery store, Target, running just about any errand. I can put it on right there in the parking lot quickly and my baby really loves it. All in all a great carrier and well worth the money in my opinion. I got the Mocca Rouge fabric and it is adorable to boot.

5 Stars Simple & Easy for Babywearing
Baby wraps are great if you have the time to deal with loose straps and are comfortable with a greater learning curve, but I needed something with simple buckles and adjustable straps that wouldn’t hurt my back after wearing it all day. Prior to the Pikkolo, I had a Peanut Shell sling (which is very easy, but hurt my back) and an Infantino soft structure carrier (hurt my back AND had straps that easily tangled). I’d also tried the Becco Butterfly to determine what works best for me.

The Pikkolo is structured the same as the Mei Tei wrap (both made by Cat Bird Baby), but the Pikkolo has easy buckles and straps for us moms who need the ease of using a carrier. I chose the Pikkolo over the Becco because of the carrying options- front, back, outward facing & hip.

The Pikkolo doesn’t hurt my back, I have ease of use without any additional help (a must for a single parent!), and it has versatile carries which will come in handy as my son grows.

5 Stars Love it!!!
I love this carrier! I tried two other carriers before this one and this one is the best! The Baby Bijorn and Infantimo both hurt my back and hips and my son was only about 9 pounds when I was using those. He is now almost 14 pounds and I wear it all the time and there is no pain at all. He loves it too. He will sit for hours in it and loves facing out and looking around. He even falls asleep in it. It is easy to put on by yourself and feels very safe and secure. Very easily adjusted if you are sharing with someone bigger/smaller than you. We don’t leave home without it!

5 Stars Love this pack!!!
I absolutely LOVE this pack! I’ve had it for just over a month now, and it gets used every day. Sometimes multiple times during the day. Learning to use it can be a bit complicated, but it’s not difficult once you get it down. My 3 month old hates being in his stroller or car seat, so I carry this pack with me everywhere. It’s his main mode of transportation when he’s not in the car. Originally I was given a Jeep front carrier, but that hurt my back and shoulders. I’ve had two back surgeries and deal with a lot of back pain already. This carrier has the hip belt, which is a must for me. It’s much better on your back and shoulders. Plus, I like the fact there is nothing between me and him. He is securely held in waist belt, and then pressed up against me. Since my son always falls asleep in his carrier (front carry, facing in), it makes it easy to remove the pack after we get home. I can even just lay down on the sofa, unbuckle and slide out everything, and then he can nap right there with me!

He isn’t quite big enough for the back carry yet, but I have practiced putting the carrier on that way. It is a little more complicated than some, again, but not hard to figure out. I love the fact that this can be used in so many ways- front facing in, front facing out, hip carry, and back carry. And since it holds a baby up to 40 pounds, there won’t be any need for me to look into a new carrier over the years. It is well worth the money.

5 Stars Great carrier!
This carrier is easy to use. I love it because baby can face out. Great addition to our collection of baby carriers!

ErgoBaby Infant Insert Heart2Heart

ErgoBaby Infant Insert Heart2HeartThe ERGObaby Infant Insert heart2heart is a specially padded and shaped cushion that can be quickly and easily placed in the carrier and readjusted as needed. This design easily enables parents to ensure that their newborn is positioned correctly on the pillow, keeping pressure off the developing sacrum, and supports the development of the spine and hips. It snaps closed around the infant, holding the baby in a cozy, protected environment close to the heart, as

5 Stars worth the money
I used this with my daughter for 3 full months. After that she outgrew it, but I feel it was worth the money. It also helped keep her warm when we were outside.

5 Stars Really good product!
I bought the insert because I would like to use the Ergo carrier with my newborn daughter, and it was perfect for her!Very easy to use, comfortable, I am very happy with it!

5 Stars Ergo Baby Infant Insert – wouldn’t go without it!
We have a newborn and the Ergo Baby Carrier. It helps to push him up from his bottom to fit correctly in the carrier. When I take him out of the carrier he will stay asleep as I place him in his bassinet.

5 Stars We all love the Ergo!
We all love the Ergo carrier, and the infant insert is awesome. We have used the insert from the time my daughter was a few weeks old and we went for a walk. She is comfortable and loves this carrier the best. Ergo is definitely the way to go when it comes to baby carriers. Safe and secure, you will feel confident from the beginning!

5 Stars Super Comfy
I loved using this with my newborn who was born at the end of October. It’s fairly bulky though, so unless I knew I’d be sitting around in air-conditioning, it might be too hot for some situations during the summer. I tolerate the bulk because of the comfort. It’s not ideal, but I really don’t think it would be as comfortable as it is without all the padding! It’s also not as nice to need a flat surface to lay the baby down on in order to be able to wear the baby–mostly annoying when I wasn’t at home, but, again, it really didn’t bother me because it was so nice once I was wearing the baby. I know from experience that there is no such thing as a perfect baby carrier and I’ve owned a few. The Ergo is still my favorite and this insert made it possible to use with a newborn. I really loved how secure she was and seemed very comfortable. It was very comfortable for me and I was able to get a lot done while wearing the baby. I love that the baby isn’t “hanging” off of me. My kids are not small on the growth charts, but are small compared to all the other giant babies we know, so a really big baby might not be able to use quite as long, but I felt like I was definitely able to use it as long as expected.

4 Stars new mom
I have heard great things about this product. The thing that was most appealing was that you don’t carry the weight on your shoulders like most carriers, instead it is more on your hips. I guess I should have done a little more research or tried it on first though. Upon receiving, it made me feel a little self conscious. I had to extend the belt to its fullest in order to even put the thing on. Then I am a little busty, so my son seems to be smoothered in it. I hope this will change soon and he will learn to like it.

5 Stars Amazing for Hiking with Toddlers!
I just got back from a 4 mile hike with my 2 year old. He LOVED this carrier. He always loved being in the Baby Bjorn when he was an infant, but he outgrew it and I was so happy to have found the Ergo carrier. He loved the piggy back position and was so comfortable and when he got fussy, I just turned him around to face me and he couldn’t have been happier. I would definitely recommend watching the DVD that shows you how to use it because if you are putting your baby on your back by yourself, it could be dangerous if you don’t know what you’re doing. I found the DVD to be simple and give great visuals of how to do this safely. I couldn’t be more pleased icon smile Ergo Baby Carrier Camel

1 Star Anything but ‘ergo’
I have never felt the need to review anything in the past, but I feel this product is terribly over-rated. As an avid backpacker I am well used to carrying 40 plus pounds for many miles a day for a week at a time, and understand the importance of a balanced pack that fits well and distributes the load correctly. No matter how much I adjust it, the Ergo just doesn’t work for me. It has a nice wide hip belt, but unfortunately because the shoulder straps re-attach to the pack too high up toward your armpit, baby’s weight sits not on the belt, but almost entirely on the point of your shoulder, which in the forward carrying position pulls your shoulders forward. In addition the pack is a full 13.5 inches wide at the bottom where baby sits, requiring the poor child to split her legs straight out sideways to get into the carrier, which my 4 month old finds unbearable. The infant insert deals with this by providing a little cushion for baby to sit on, however now the legs face forward straight into your just-had-a-baby sized tummy where they get squashed once the pack is done up. Its also very, very hot for baby and wearer alike, and I find it awkward to get baby in and out of safely – one clip is located directly between your shoulder blades! I tried my best to love it for a full 4 months, but it just doesn’t work for me, my husband or my baby who screams every time I put her in it. I now have a BabyBjorn model with extra back support which we are thrilled with.

2 Stars Disappointed
I borrowed one from a friend before laying out the dough for this carrier, and I’m sure glad I did. The Ergo did NOT work for us. My 9-month-old, 23-pound DD hated being smushed against my back. I found it uncomfortable to wear, even after many attempts to adjust the straps (plus it squished my chest in VERY unflattering ways — not great for a still-nursing mommy). I found I had to take her out after 20 minutes of wear, and that certainly won’t make this carrier last through a zoo trip or anything else. We’re now shopping for a baby backpack with a proper frame.

5 Stars The best carrier you can get
My daughter has tried many carriers and she says this is the best, it’s very comfortable and easy to wear and my 3 month old grandaughter loved it.

5 Stars VERY SOFT!
I love this insert for my Ergo Sports carrier. I love how it is made of organic cotton, which is a must for a newborn baby. When my baby becomes fussy, I just strap him in the Ergo carrier. Within minutes, he is fast asleep. So, there is nothing I would prefer but organic materials – especially when his skin is leaning against the material. Perfect necessity for any new mother.

If you have an ergo carrier, your baby will suck on the straps, these little sucking pads will save you more than a few washes.

5 Stars ERGO Sucking Pad Pair Mocha
i didn’t really know what the purpose of the sucking pad, but as soon as i got the Ergo carrier, i noticed that i needed this. it keeps clean for both Ergo and my babyWorth the money!

4 Stars So much healthier than the ERGO straps icon wink Ergo Baby Sucking Pads Mocha Set of 2
OK, it’s not like sucking on these are good for a baby or anything, but there is so much wear and tear on the Ergo straps that I would cringe every time my little guy sucked on them – pretty much every time. And there is just no way to wash the carrier every day, nor do I like to dry it. With two pairs of the sucking pads I can wash one pair every other day and feel confident about my baby putting his mouth on them.

I try to take them off each time I take off the carrier and keep them in the front pouch, that way they stay clean while the ergo is being stored.

5 Stars Busy Mom, grateful for the small things…
It’s worth it. Baby will suck on them. I’d rather throught the sucking pad in the wash than the entire carrier!
