4 Stars Wish I’d had this for babies 1 & 2
I used other styles of baby carriers for my first two — a Snugli for #1 and a Nojo sling for #2. I loved the idea of a sling, but wasn’t thrilled with the Nojo because of all the padding and the fact that it wasn’t designed for a 4′ 11″ tall woman. So I decided to try the unpadded Maya sling for baby #3 and WHAT a difference it made! I was able to cinch it up so that my little 6 pounder was nice and secure against me. With the Maya I found that I wore the baby for hours longer than I ever did with the Snugli or the Nojo because both of us were happy with how it felt.

Having said that, the 6 pounder is now a 16 pounder (or more) and the sling doesn’t feel quite as comfortable as it used to and I tend not to wear baby boy for as long. I will admit it may be something I’m not doing right that is contributing to the problem, but I’m now intrigued enough to look at the Moby wrap to see if it might work better for me now that my baby is bigger. I still love using my Maya sling around the house and have recommended it to many expecting mothers, but it would be nice to find something I can use for longer periods of time like I used to be able to do with the Maya.

5 Stars Versatility and long lasting
My son is a wiggle worm! I could not use the sling really until he was about 4 months old – he would arch his back and then his head would get kinked. But once he was solidly holding his head up this sling is a miracle worker.

I use this baby every where we go. Sometimes being in the stroller is unsettling for him so I just pop him in the sling and he is fine and feels safe. If he is fine in his stroller but wants to sleep, I just use the sling to cover the front and sides of the stroller because it is so wide. I can also use it as a cover for the stroller while changing a diaper. When we fly places I can cover his head while he sleeps on the plane on me. It has just become the all around baby necessity for me. I can’t say enough good things about it!

I also have a baby bjorn and an evenflo snugli. The problem with these is that they put a ton of strain on my shoulders, they don’t really even out the weight of a larger baby. My son is 30″ long and 17 lbs at only 5 months. When I use the sling, I can carry him for over an hour at a time vs 10-15 minutes in the other carriers or 10 minutes just holding him.

***It does take practice and some learning though along with a lot of patience. With such a wiggly baby, I’ve found the best postion for us is the tummy to tummy while he kind of straddles my middle. Sometimes he will also sit in it cross legged while facing forward.

I think it will be great to carry him on my back with in a few more months. I can’t wait to see how many more uses I can get out of it.

5 Stars The grandson and I are sold on it
I wish I’d known about these when my own kids were babies; my daughter especially would have practically lived in it. It works pretty well for an active 7 month old grandson too — he sits in it and loves getting walked around (and chewing on the fabric, of course), and has fallen asleep in it a couple of times. I haven’t used the pocket yet, but have been told by others that it can replace a diaper bag. It seems roomy enough for that, anyway. If you’re new to slings, try a couple different positions to see what works best for you & the kid, and give it a day or so to get used to it.

The only quibble I have is with the documentation. The written instructions were *too* sketchy, they didn’t make it clear that the labels should be facing out when initially threading it through the rings. The included DVD was better, it showed what to do, although I paused and backed up several times to make sure I had it right.

2 Stars I Don’t Like It
I’ve used this wrap for five months now and the only thing that I like about it is the tail because I can nurse while carrying my baby with ease. I don’t like the fabric and when tightened it digs into my neck and my baby’s legs and hurts. It seems to be twisted 90% of the time and I know that I’m threading it correctly. I have to readjust it too often because the fabric is always sliding and loosening up the sling. I NEVER go hands free using this carrier. I don’t know what they’re talking about but this sling isn’t that secure. Another thing about slings is they are only supported by one shoulder and your back so eventually the weight from any sized baby causes a lot of pain and discomfort. I am looking into the Moby or Sleepy Baby wraps because they’re softer, more secure and distribute weight evenly, but I’m not sure if I want to be bothered with all that wrapping.

4 Stars Excellent First Impression!!
I used it the first time today w/o watching video because I was so excited to use it. I think it was twisted and it wasn’t very tight but it helped so much with the weight after watching the instructions I am even more excited to use it. My daughter is 15 months old 25 lbs. I’m used to carrying her all this time, but she loved the maya as much as I did, she was happy and calm in it. Will post more later! Get it! The moby you have to criss cross it twice around your body and it’s 4-5 yards of fabric (12-15 feet). Imagine doing that in a parking lot!! haha! Maya rox!

4 Stars Great Buy
I had the maya wrap pouch and loved it so much, but my baby got big quickly and I needed a new sling. I find that this one is a little hard to get used to, but once I figured it out, I can admit that it is a great buy. I still prefer the pouch to this, but recognize that this is much more versatile.

4 Stars good
My baby is very long (22 inches at birth) and sometimes he doesn’t seem to be very comfortable in it and will cry until he’s taken out. Works great in restaurants to breastfeed!

User Ratings and Reviews

2 Stars Poorly Designed
This is the only carrier we have tried so far, but it is terrible. It is almost impossible to get the baby in there yourself. It takes a team effort. There are so many clips and they are really hard to clip into place. The last time we used it, one of the ones on the back just simply would not come undone and I had to loosen everything and pull it up over my head in the airport. It was a mess. My son seemed okay in it, but it looked uncomfortable. There is really no comfortable place for his arms. And if you do face him out, away from you, there is cloth in his face (that would have been behind his head) and there is a tiny little snap that is meant to fold that down so that he can see, but it doesn’t hold in place and then it pops back up into his face. One more problem, it BARELY fits around my husband’s waist. He is a big guy, but not that big, he has a 40″ waist, and it must be exactly 40″ – so if you or your spouse are any bigger than that, don’t bother. There must be better carriers out there. Sorry Infantino!

4 Stars what a relief!
I beg to differ about large chested users…..personal info, but, I’m a “DD” and this is fine. I’m also plus sized, I’m 5’9 and a size 20 in shirts and this fits me just fine. It’s EASY to put on and EASY to get my 11 lb 7 week old in and out of. It doesn’t hurt my back and I have a prior low back injury. This is the best $30 I spent all year!

5 Stars Works Great Especially as Baby Get’s Older
We bought Infantino Front 2 Back Rider Baby Carrier in Black and Greylast minute as we were on our way to a sporting event. We are so glad we did because it works wonderfully. I have back problems and a bigger chest and this carrier worked very nicely for me since the straps are both padded and wide. I had it on several times for a few hours at a time and it didn’t hurt. It does take a few minutes to figure out how all the straps connected and the first 2 times I did have problems getting my daughter who was 3 months at the time in it quickly and easily. After a few times though it gets easier, trust me.

I recommend putting the carrier on first, then unbuckle the sides of the actual carrier part where the baby sits, put baby in then buckle the sides back up. It worked better for me when I was able to sit to put her in. Taking baby out is easiest if you can just take it off and lay them down. I used it a lot to get my oldest from the bus stop.

The little pocket in the front was great to stash her pacifier. My husband used it with our daughter on his back and both of them were comfortable. I highly recommend this for anyone who is looking for a comfortable carrier that will last and grow with your baby.

4 Stars Took a minute to figure out
The instructions with this are not very detailed so it took a minute to figure some things out. Not the best support for a heavy baby (mine is 23 lbs)I felt fine with him on front but hurt when he was on my back. I think if I had worked up to the 23 lbs gradually it probably would have helped. icon smile Infantino Front 2 Back Rider Baby Carrier Black and Grey A very good deal for the price. Once you get everything positioned right it is very comfy.

1 Star Big Disappointment
The straps are very complicated and dangle loosely. It’s impossible to get on and off by yourself. I actually got stuck in it and thought I’d have to call for help. The clips that hold the baby to you require two hands to undo, making it impossible to hold the baby secure while undoing the straps. The only way to get him out is to lean over the couch so he can rest on it while undoing the clips. I know this is supposed to keep the clips from coming undone while walking around, but it makes it unsafe when you actually do want to open them. They should be secure but quick-release, so you can get the baby out quickly if there’s an emergency. No matter what I do, there seems to be no way to position my newborn so his face isn’t smashed against my chest, making me worry about suffocation.

4 Stars lightweight and comfortable
This backpack is just what I was looking for- a backpack that is durable, comfortable, and much simpler (fewer straps and buckles) than the hiking backpack we had been using. My daughter is 25 pounds, and it is still comfortable. I wish I had gotten this pack WAY sooner because she outgrew our front carrier awhile ago (but I still would haul her around in it), and having this makes shopping trips and walks much more pleasant for both of us icon smile Kokopax City Carrier Hot Chocolate

1 Star Deeply disappointed
My 8 month old son HATED this carrier, sadly. We’d had high hopes based on the reviews. But he didn’t seem to feel secure in it. Because of the way the carrier is positioned, he was able to push against my back with his feet and try to stand up, and the unpadded straps holding him into the backpack would cut into his neck and leave horrible marks. We had a difficult time getting him in and out, because the clasp for the straps that secure him are placed very low in the carrier, and the carrier is very narrow, and we couldn’t see the release buttons to get him out. We also had a diffult time with the very stiff metal stand — it’s hard to put your kid down when you can’t get the stand to release behind you! Finally, the lack of any type of chest or waist strap was a big problem from an ergonomic perspective, and our kid is only 17lbs. I can’t imagine have a much heavier one in there.

It arrived yesterday, and is being returned in the morning. You get what you pay for, I guess….

1 Star terrible carrier, not an ergonomic design
I rarely review items I buy unless I really love or hate them. I think reviews are important because I know personally I shop on Amazon based on reviews. So here is the truth about this carrier:1) needs a strap across the chest to distribute weight properly across shoulders and upper back 2) needs better padding in lubar area. I literally feel the bar rubbing against my back 3) I am 5’5″ and the lumbar adjustment bar is on the highest setting yet the bar still resting too low on the back 4)the kick stand that opens to place baby in carrier requires 2 hands to open because it is very stiff. I found it to be dangerous when trying to open the bar while my daughter is in carrier in order to remove her 5) the lower snap in part of the harness is located way too low in between childs legs making it difficult to snap straps in 6) the arm straps cut in to your armpit since this carrier is lacking the aformentioned strap across the chest. After 10 minutes you will feel your arms getting numb and you will find it even more uncomfortable in the armpit area when you attempt to extend your arms forward in a reaching position. If you look at the picture of the people wearing the carrier on kokopax website, you will notice how the carrier pulls under the models armpits. Compare that picture to the Chicco backpack carrier that has the strap across the chest and notice how that does not cut into the armpit area. I did not notice that before I made this purchase unfortunately. Aside from these important features which are lacking from this carrier there is a plus side: my daughter loves being in this thing and the pattern is cute but be prepared for backaches and irritation of your armpits! And yes I did adjust the carrier properly. There are only so many adjustments you can make.

4 Stars Simple, hip design–functional carrier
I am very fond of the way this carrier looks. Design is simple, functional, and the print is mature and nice to look at. My 8 month old (18lbs.) enjoys riding in this carrier. There’s a plastic ring that you can connect toys too and a pocket in the back for keys, etc…I can carry my son in this carrier for about an hour before my back begins to hurt. I’m not sure if its the carrier (which I seem to be able to adjust correctly) or if its me (i carry stress in my neck and back.)I’m not a big woman (5′ 2″-117 lbs) and I feel I’m nearing the end of carrying this kid around on my body b/c he’s just getting too heavy. His dad likes the carrier and takes him on walks around the neighborhood in it. He mentioned no flaws or pains with it.

5 Stars Product great, delivery lousy
We are very happy with the Kokopax city carrier. However, it was not delivered at first, and we had to contact Amazon to re-deliver the product. This second delivery got here, but long after the 2-day delivery time that had been promised.

4 Stars Pretty good for it’s price
Somebody would have to help you to adjust this thing and once you adjust it you better leave it , because it’d hard to readjust. So this item is for one parent to wear only. I can not wear it for too long – it makes my shoulders hurt.
