4 Stars Yeah for velcro-less swaddle!!!
By now my chunky monkey baby has outgrown this swaddle – and swaddling in general…however, once I got this product a few months ago we loved it! I altered how I wrapped her in it because it was a little difficult to get her arms under the fabric and then get the fabric behind her back. (if you have one you know what I am talking about). Aside from that it was great, there is so much fabric you can actually wrap your baby up tight unlike other swaddles.

This was a “gulp, how much is this thing” moment, however I thought it was worth the money……

1 Star Complete waste of money
This product was a complete waste of money. It’s very cheaply made, and was not comfortable for my baby. My daughter could only sleep if she was snugly wrapped, with her arms secured because she could get them out of most any swaddle and the woke herself up. We had created a version of this with two blankets (one folded into a triangle to wrap her arms and the other wrapped around her), but I thought we should try one actually made with the arm wraps. We used the miracle blanket maybe 4 or 5 times, then went back to our old created version. It’s overpriced and cheap fabric. I have no idea what the other reviewers are raving about.

5 Stars Amazing little blanket!!
This blanket is truly AMAZING and worth every penny!! A friend suggested it when our daughter was a little over 1 month and we decided to give it a try. I was a little skeptical, since I thought we were doing a good job swaddling her already, but this blanket really did the trick! Even from the first time we used it, she now sleeps between 6-8 hours after we put her down for the night (which I think is great for a nursing baby!). Before we started using it she would wake up at about 2:30am every night to nurse – now she sleeps through to about 6:00am, nurses, and then falls back asleep still swaddled for another few hours. She is now 2 1/2 months and I’m not sleep deprived at all! I wish I had this blanket 11 years ago with my first daughter. This blanket is a MUST!!!

5 Stars Miracle blanket
There is no swaddling blanket as good as this one and trust me I tried many. Kept my daughter swaddled all the time. She never broke out of it and slept perfectly. Kept her swaddled as long as possible. Don’t waste your money on immitations they are not the same and don’t work. Highly recommend babies love the feeling of being swaddled and this does a perfect job! Thank you, Highly recommend!!!

5 Stars Worth Every Penny!
After knowing how much our first baby loved to be swaddled, we bought this for our second baby before she was born. What a blessing this simple blanket has been in our lives! This is the only way to keep her little arms from swinging around and waking her up at night. I generally only use the Miracle Blanket for nighttime–that way she is in a deep sleep. During the day, I let her sleep in a regular blanket swaddled around her, which she can squirm out of in a few minutes no matter how tight I wrap it. But, that way she sleeps lightly during the day and soundly at night. If I really need to get some work done during the day, the Miracle Blanket is what I turn to.

Also, we are on our fourth formula. Needless to say, we’ve had a very fussy baby up until now. To calm her down, we would wrap her up in the Miracle Blanket and then jiggle and listen to water running or some sort of white noise–the Happiest Baby on the Block techniques.

Yes, the blanket can remind you of a straight jacket, but it doesn’t bother our baby at all! She absolutely loves it. She will fuss while we put her in it, but as soon as she’s all bundled up, she gets this look and you can tell she just calms down so quickly. Beware, your in-laws may try to unwrap her and disapprove, but it’s all about returning baby to the place where she knew peace and comfort.

I will now be buying these blankets for all the baby showers I go to in the future. This is by far one of the baby products I can’t live without (the others being the hisense movement sensor for under her matress, the Fisher-Price glider, and the dexbaby white noise maker).

4 Stars Miracle Blanket did the job
Yes it is better and larger then Kiddopotamus Swaddling Blanket, yes it is well made quality, yes my baby hands stayed inside, yes it decrease his crying like 80% of the time, but I didn’t give it 5 stars because it is so expensive for a simple blanket. I think 15$ will be fair price.

5 Stars Love the miracle blanket!
This blanket makes swaddling easy and my baby sleeps great in it! We bought a second one so we will always have a clean one on hand. It is a nice, soft, sturdy fabric with just the right amount of give and the pink is a nice baby pink. The only negative is that we have a very tall baby and at 2 1/2 months she is already too long for her legs to fit in the leg pocket. But we are still using the miracle blanket without swaddling her legs and she is sleeping just as well. Highly recommend this blanket!

5 Stars Still using it!!
This blanket is so soft and keeps my baby feeling secure. Only one is necessary because it adjusts with your baby’s growth. My baby is 6 months old and we are still using it just to swaddle her bottom part. (Her arms stay out because she is so long) My baby has always been in the 90th percentile for her weight and off the charts on her heighth and the blanket still worked great for her. I will mention that I’ve recently noticed a little hole where the wraps are, but it’s nothing we can’t fix by sewing.

4 Stars Unbreakable swaddle but won’t accomodate an older infant
Edited: My son measured 14 lbs, 23.5 inches a week ago (75th percentile for height). The last few times I’ve swaddled him he’s wiggled his legs out of the pocket at the bottom of the swaddle wrap, so he might be getting close to it’s maximum range of use. I wouldn’t call him overly active, and just wanted to add this comment in case it was a concern for anyone looking into this wrap. It’s not a problem for me as the weather is warm and kicking out of the pocket does not affect the swaddle on the arms. Really, this wrap is so lightweight, it’s not providing any more than a lightweight covering. I’d probably knock my rating down to four stars for not accommodating a longer (or older) infant. There is no way this will last him until 12 weeks as the product literature suggests. Additionally, with a previous child, I swaddled longer than 12 weeks. This swaddle wrap does not allow for extended swaddling if the leg pocket is used.

I’ve tried many different swaddlers: Halo Innovations Sleepsack Swaddle 100% Cotton, Cream, Small, Kiddopotamus SwaddleMe Microfleece, and Aden & Anais Safari Friends Swaddle Wraps 4 Pack, and now the Miracle Blanket. I’d have to say of the four methods, the Miracle Blanket holds the most secure swaddle, especially on my larger (90th percentile), and active 8 week old baby.

The instructions indicate that this blanket can be used from birth to 12 weeks. There is no weight range given. Despite having no velcro or snaps, the method of folding keeps the baby in a solid swaddle. First the baby is placed on the open swaddle blanket, which is shaped like a ‘T’. There are two wing shaped flaps that fold over the baby’s arms, then baby’s legs are tucked into a pocket. Finally, one arm of the ‘T’ is wrapped around the body of the baby. The end of the flap will end up in different places depending on the size of your baby. This method, although very a secure swaddle, is a bit more complicated than the Halo or the SwaddleMe. Although it is probably less complicated than when using a traditional square blanket to swaddle.

The fabric is a good quality knit that stretches, but not to excess. I like that you can leave the baby’s legs out of the pocket if you should so desire (hot weather, etc). This pull down pocket also makes middle-of-the-night diaper changes easier in that you don’t need to entirely unswaddle the baby.

My 23.5″ 8 week old has kicked the pocket off on one occasion. He still fits comfortably in it at 14 pounds, although his legs do reach to the bottom of the pocket. The flap ends up under his body rather than folded on top as the product picture shows.

PROS:

Very secure swaddle

No velcro to stick to everything in the wash or scratch the baby

Lightweight material – good for hot weather

CONS:

Takes longer to swaddle than a velcro tab swaddle such as the Halo Swaddle or the Kiddopotamus SwaddleMe: You need to lift the baby’s legs to wrap the flap around their body

End of flap from the wrap around the baby tends to get in the way when moving the baby since it is not secured

Pocket is not very deep and baby might kick his way out of it, although it would not effect the swaddle on the arms

Priced a little high for what it is

In summary, this is a great swaddle wrap for babies who tend to ‘escape’ from other swaddlers. It is also nice to only have to purchase one blanket, and not multiple sizes as one has to do with the Halo and the SwaddleMe.

4 Stars Great Swaddle Blanket….but
This is the best swaddle blanket when you need one that also keeps baby warm. We live in a warm climate so something this thick worries us. Over-heating for baby can increase the chances of SIDS. This swaddle is not any thicker than the others on the market so pick this one if you are looking for the best one. We found much better swaddles for our specisif needs at [...]. They are more like gauze and breathe much better keeping baby from over heating. I hope this helps. Cheers.

5 Stars Best swaddling blanket EVER!
I used these kind of blankets with my daughter who is 4 now. They beat the pants off of any other swaddler on the market today. The fabric is not heavy so there is no worry of over heating, but its still soft. My child loved this blanket and I used it for about 4 months until she got strong enough to wiggle out of it at night. I ordered two more for my son. I must have.

5 Stars BEST swaddle blanket ever !
A++++++++++++++ ! This Blanket is truly a Miracle , it helped us get some sleep in those early weeks of my newborns life. My son was an escape artist when it came to being swaddled before this blanket , he could get out of any wrap or swaddle and would startle and whip his arms around waking himself and me up. It was very frustrating and we didn’t get much sleep . A friend suggested I buy a Miracle Blanket and swore it worked , so I hoped online and bought one ! The first time I used it my infant son feel asleep fast and hard ! He didn’t wake up for 4 hours , no flailing arms , no startle reflex to wake him , it was AWESOME ! We used ours till he was 5 months old , it was a sanity saver.

My son slept for hours longer when swaddled in this blanket vs other swaddling blankets or not swaddled. We used it until he was 7 months, when he decided he wanted to sleep on his tummy. We had one bad night of transition then he happily slept without it. This blanket worked wonders for my son so we both could get the sleep we needed.

5 Stars Awesome – you won’t regret buying this
The first time we used this blanket, the baby slept for 6 hrs. Next night, 8 hrs. I think it works for the type of baby that wakes up due to unswaddling him/herself because in this blanket, a newborn can’t wiggle out of it. I thought it over and over because it seemed a little pricey, but my friends kept telling me to try it and I’m glad I did. My 10 week old is 15+ lbs and it still works so you’ll get a lot of use out of it if you start when they are a newborn. (I think it’s made to work for 0-4 mo)

5 Stars Newborn couldn’t sleep w/o it!
We added Miracle Blankets to our baby registry after hearing a friend rave about them. Thank heavens we did! In our childbirth classes, my husband and I were the most swaddling-impaired of all our classmates! For whatever reason, we just couldn’t get it right. Luckily, these blankets make it easy enough for a monkey to swaddle a baby. My only criticism is that the colored versions of these blankets are not as soft or stretchy as the unbleached cotton ones. But they’re still worthy of 5 stars. The yellow w/ aqua trim was my favorite! The colors are so much prettier in person!

Seattle recently had a heat wave, and one night we tried putting our newborn son in a light sleep sack instead of his Miracle Blanket. He woke nearly every 10-30 minutes due to startling himself with his arms and legs. After half a sleepless night, we wrapped him up tightly in one of these blankies and it was smooth sailing for the rest of the night.

Another thing I like about these blankets is that you can easily pull the leg pouch down to check a diaper in the middle of the night and it won’t ruin the swaddle. Perfect for people who, like me, are obsessed with keeping their little one dry!

Our friends warned us that these blankets might actually be a little TOO good. Their daughter is now 6 months old and she still prefers to sleep with them – despite having outgrown them months ago. So they just wrap her up and leave her legs out.

5 Stars MY FAVORITE BABY PRODUCT!
I can not say enough about this product. My little one liked to be swaddled. It gave my husband and I (any my little one too) the gift of many hours of extra sleep. Without M.B–>she would sleep 4 hours max. With M.B.–>10+. (DID YOU SEE THAT! MORE THAN 6+ hours extra in a row!) As a working couple…that was priceless. It was a sad day when she outgrew it. She is verrrrrrrry long and grew out of it at ~4 mo. which is about when they should be transitioned to free-style sleeping (as I have been told anyway.)I buy this for all my expecting friends.

P.S. Ignoring the ‘straight-jacket’ comments will be easy with all the extra rest you will be getting!

2 Stars It Does Work, But Not Worth the High Cost
The Miracle Blanket does work. It has a “pocket” where the baby’s feet go in, and two little “wings” that you wrap around each arm. Then there’s a very long piece that you can wind around your baby. So yes, it is effective in keeping your baby from working himself out of the swaddle.

But I’ve found that it’s just as effective, and easier, to swaddle in the traditional way, using a regular blanket. The trick to getting a snug swaddle is to use a blanket that’s larger than your typical receiving blanket (usually 30″x30″), and also to look for some stretch in the fabric. My recommendations are: Hudson Baby Organic Receiving Blanket, a 40″x40″ blanket. Another popular choice is aden + anais 100% Cotton Muslin Swaddle Wrap, 2 Pack, which is large (47″x47″), has some stretch, and the breathable fabric keeps the baby from overheating.

Advantages of using a regular blanket is that they are usually more affordable so you can have a few in the laundry rotation, and they can be used for many other things beyond the swaddling stage, unlike the Miracle Blanket.

5 Stars Only Swaddling Blanket that Worked for My Sister
I bought the miracle blanket as part of a larger baby shower gift for my sister. She put it away and forgot about it. Instead she was trying to use the Summer Infant SwaddleMe blankets, which she purchased at Babies R US and weren’t working at all (they use velcro). Who knew that fragile newborns squirm so much? That baby was like Houdini and could get out of that SwaddleMe in about 2 minutes. My sister even bought a swaddler that zips up the front, and it didn’t work. I asked her about the Miracle Blanket, and she said that she had forgotten about it. Then she opened it and said that she didn’t understand the instructions and how to put it on. I pointed her to the company’s website, which has a very clear instructional video. Once she tried it and realized that it worked, she sent her husband out to buy two more. Now it’s the only swaddler that they use. The baby can still occasionally sneak a hand or part of an arm out, but for the most part, she stays put. The reason the Miracle Blanket works so well with really squirmy baby arms is that the flaps that hold down the arms work in such a way that the baby’s own body weight holds the flaps down. If you watch the video on the company’s website, it will all make sense. I also got her the Happiest Baby on the Block DVD and book, which were also excellent. She plans on giving a Miracle Blanket and a Happiest Baby on the Block DVD to all of her friends that are starting to have babies.
